Abstract
The aim of this study is to analyze dose statistics in critical organs for cancer lesions located in bones treated palliatively for plans implemented with CyberKnife System. Fifteen patients were selected who had been pre-prepared with treatment plans in the dedicated treatment planning system. The group consisted of patients with cancerous lesions located in the thoracic and lumbar spine with different numbers of fractions (1, 3, 5) and a total dose ranging from 16 Gy in a single fraction to a total dose of 35 Gy in 5 fractions. Differences in maximum doses with tolerance doses for individual critical organs were analyzed. As a result of the comparative analysis of absorbed dose statistics in selected treatment plans with tolerance doses in critical organs for cancer lesions located in the thoracic and lumbar spine treated with palliative intent in the CyberKnife system, it was deduced that for all critical organs located in the thoracic and lumbar spine, the tolerance doses of the Grimm et al. report 2011 were satisfied [6].
