Abstrakt

Kanały jonowe są integralnymi białkami błonowymi, obecnymi zarówno w błonie komórkowej, jak i w wewnątrzkomórkowych błonach. Zidentyfikowano ponad 400 genów kodujących białka kanałów jonowych w ludzkim genomie. Jednym z nich jest wewnątrzkomórkowy kanał chlorkowy 1 (Chloride Intracellular Channel 1, CLIC1). CLIC1 wpływa na regulację wielu procesów związanych z nowotworzeniem, takich jak proliferacja, migracja, inwazja komórek, czy angiogeneza. W zakresie nowotworów głowy i szyi wykazano zwiększoną ekspresję białka CLIC1 w tkankach guza oraz w osoczu pacjentów z rakiem jamy ustnej oraz z rakiem nosogardła, co wskazuje na możliwość wykorzystania CLIC1 jako potencjalnego markera nowotworowego.
