Abstract

The motion of the patient's anatomical structures may affect the accuracy of its delivery. There are different methods of dealing with organ movement while delivering treatment. The aim of the study  was to review solutions dealing with the respiratory motions of patients. Compensation of this motion during irradiation with external beams and control and monitoring systems have been presented and discussed. In addition to the methods used on classical linear accelerators, the respiratory tracking technique used on the CyberKnife was presented.
